EU Policy and Communications Intern

Position description

The Renewable Hydrogen Coalition (RHC) promotes the critical role of renewable hydrogen to deliver the EU’s long-term decarbonisation goals. The Coalition is the voice of leading companies, innovative start-ups, investors, and industrial off-takers who are all dedicated to making Europe the global leader in renewable hydrogen solutions. The RHC was established by its founding partners, SolarPower Europe, WindEurope, and Breakthrough Energy.

We are seeking an EU Policy Communications Intern to join and support our team in Brussels on a full-time basis.

This role provides a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in representing corporate interests to the EU institutions and relevant stakeholders, while also promoting the transformative power of renewable hydrogen and contributing to the transition towards renewable energy. You will work in close cooperation with our team and founding partners, playing a key role in helping us advocating for the interests of the renewable hydrogen sector and in shaping the future of the sector as a key solution to decarbonise Europe.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the RHC’s advocacy work by monitoring EU policy developments relevant to hydrogen and drafting content including policy briefings, policy papers, and legislative amendments;
  • Supporting the RHC’s communications activities by drafting content for our social media channels and newsletter, as well as updating the website;
  • Carrying out research tasks to support the RHC’s advocacy and communication activities;
  • Press and social media monitoring;
  • Supporting the organisation of the RHC’s internal meetings and external events such as our flagship annual Renewable Hydrogen Summit.

Mindset and skills:

  • Excellent team-work and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills;
  • Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal forms;
  • Positive and proactive mind-set. Capable of being flexible and adaptable.

Experience:

  • A degree in communications, marketing or equivalent, with an interest in EU Public Affairs;
  • At least one previous internship. An internship in the field of energy and climate change and/or in an EU institution is an asset.

Languages:

  • Full proficiency in English (written and spoken). Another language (e.g. German) is an asset.
