The Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI) is seeking to recruit a Senior Group Leader. We are looking for a researcher who will contribute to our mission of making fundamental discoveries that enhance our understanding of how plants and other autotrophic organisms function. About the position
All group Leaders at GMI enjoy complete intellectual freedom to pursue whatever questions fascinate them. They receive generous core funding at the ERC level and benefit from a minimal hierarchical structure, outstanding facilities, and efficient administrative support.
Senior Group Leaders have permanent appointments, subject to 5-year evaluations. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding track record leading a research group, training successful scientists, and making fundamental discoveries in their field. A strong commitment to contributing to the leadership of the Institute and mentoring junior Group Leaders is also expected.
