Our school ethos, WE CARE: Co-operation, Ambition, Respect, Empathy, underpins everything we do.We are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant, who will undertake a range of financial transactions including liaising with suppliers, processing payments, raising invoices and managing income through the school’s cashless income system, Parent Mail. You will also ensure that all goods into the school are received and maintain the school’s inventory system.The ideal candidate will work well under pressure, have excellent numeracy and organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task. Some finance experience is essential, but training will be provided where necessary.About youKey RESPONSIBILITIES:Administering the Accounts Payable process including:

  • Obtaining quotes from suppliers in line with the school’s Finance Policy, ensuring value for money;
  • Support Finance & Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with the school’s Finance & Procurement regulations and all relevant statutory procurement requirements;
  • Continuing to build on the school’s excellent supplier relationships;
  • Raising Purchase Orders in the finance system (Access Education Finance);
  • Dealing with any queries from staff regarding their budgets, orders, invoices etc…
  • Training new staff on Access Education to raise orders and view budget information
  • Matching invoices to POs and delivery notes and obtaining payment approvals;
  • Processing invoices, staff expense claims etc. in the finance system including allocating costs against the correct budget codes;
  • Maintaining supplier accounts and reconciling supplier statements
  • Checking and managing the finance email address
  • Recording credit card transactions on financial system

Administering the Bank & cash process, including:

  • Processing bank transactions in the finance system ensuring all remittances are saved electronically
  • Banking cash and cheques as received and inputting into the Cashbook
