Assistant Professor – Department of Fine Arts

Teaching responsibilities will include:
• Fall: FINA 2201 (Intaglio and Relief), FINA 3201 (Intermediate Printmaking I), and FINA 1001 (Drawing Explorations)

The ideal applicant will have completed a Master of Fine Arts degree, have experience teaching printmaking and drawing courses at the undergraduate level, a strong commitment to studio practice, and an active exhibition record. Informed awareness of contemporary discourse in visual arts and the ability to incorporate critical theory into studio courses at all levels is also required.

The ability to teach a wide range of traditional and non-traditional methods in printmaking including Lithography, Intaglio, and Relief printmaking is essential. Familiarity in Screen-print, Letterpress, or alternative processes will be considered an asset.

The printmaking studio features five etching presses of various sizes, two lithographic presses with a selection of stones, a Vandercook SP20 letterpress, a one-arm manual screen print vacuum table, ventilated acid room, dark room and NuArc exposure unit.
In addition to the primary teaching responsibilities in printmaking, the candidate will teach FINA 1001 Drawing Explorations, an introductory drawing course for non-Fine Arts majors.
The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, and will begin on July1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. This position requires that the successful candidate teach in-person, however they can work remotely through July if they are not able to be in Sackville until August.
