Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) Faculty Position

McMaster University’s Faculty of Social Sciences invites applications for a one-year, full-time Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor in the Department of Health, Aging & Society, located on the main university campus, for the period July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Applicants must have the ability to teach social sciences courses which cut across the curricula of gerontology, aging studies, and health studies and have demonstrated familiarity with research methods for the social sciences.

The successful applicant must have a PhD in an appropriate discipline in the Social Sciences, or with an appropriate specialization in the Social Sciences, ideally with expertise in health and/or aging, or a related discipline, by the time of the appointment. The applicant must also demonstrate a record of excellence in teaching and a willingness and ability to contribute to the department’s collegial and collaborative intellectual community as well as university-wide inclusive excellence goals and priorities. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate level courses, typically seven 3-unit courses over two terms, which could include large introductory courses and some courses offered in the evening.
