The intern works as a full member of our team, pursues project assignments that are designed to make a significant impact on our work, and has opportunities to learn about the United Nations overall. The internship will focus on the following areas that will contribute to our current main project:
1) Research and test survey solutions for a standard global exit survey
2) Research and contribute to a question catalogue for a standard global exit survey
3) Assist in organizing focus groups with stakeholders
4) Attending and summarizing focus groups and meetings.
5) Assist in designing the final survey
6) Supporting communication efforts including the drafting of news articles
7) Contribute to designing a dashboard to visualize survey results
8) Support designing standardized reports
9) Initiating and carrying out other assigned tasks/special projects.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
(c) Be computer literate in standard software applications, especially MS Excel;
(d) Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
(e) Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
We are open to a broad range of educational backgrounds. We seek candidates with:
(a) relevant coursework in business administration, management, strategic communications and
(b) design, project management, public administration, law and legal administration (criminal justice), or human resources management.
(c) We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in statistics, data visualization and survey design
