Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Data Analyst

The MEL Data Analyst is responsible for implementation of Pacific Australia Skills quantitative data analysis systems. The role’s focus is on analysing enrolment, graduation and survey data to inform reporting, decision making, and program improvement.

The Role

The MEL Data Analyst is responsible for implementation of Pacific Australia Skills quantitative data analysis systems.

The role’s focus is on analysing enrolment, graduation and survey data to inform reporting, decision making, and program improvement.

The MEL Data Analyst will also support other key MEL tasks, including coordinating reports and building MEL capacity of Pacific Australia Skills staff and skills and training partners:

About You

Essential Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, economics, data science, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, MEL, or research.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data visualisation tools.
  • Experience in database management and automation of reporting systems.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling visualisations.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural settings.
  • Experience with international development projects, NGOs, or donor-funded initiatives is an advantage.
  • Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
