Job description: LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive universityPhD AcademyPhD Academy Assistant Manager (Casework and Records)Salary from £42,679 to £51,000 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,730 pa inclusive of London allowance.This is a full-time, permanent appointment.The PhD Academy offers centralised services, social space and advanced training to the School’s doctoral students. It also hosts the LSE Economic and Social Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership (LSE ESRC DTP).The PhD Academy is looking to appoint an Assistant Manager responsible for casework and records. This role involves leading the Research Degrees Management team, overseeing registry processes for PGR students from enrolment through to completion and award, managing the secretariat function for the Research Degrees Sub-Committee and the Doctoral Programme Directors’ Forum, and leading the School’s community of practice for PGR programme management and administration.The successful candidate will be an integral member of the PhD Academy’s core management team, contributing to strategic planning and the delivery of PhD Academy operations. This role requires a dynamic individual who can adapt and advance our services in response to changing academic regulations, policies, and technological advancements.Responsibilities include: leading and managing a team of three officers, including recruitment, training, and performance reviews; ensuring efficient casework, advice, and student records management services, proactively leading improvements in student records and casework management, and; collaborating extensively with stakeholders across the School to uphold high standards of service.Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a small team, excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft365 and other collaborative platforms, the ability to communicate complex information sensitively and effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders, and a proactive approach to service improvement and stakeholder engagement.We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.For further information about the post, please see the and theTo apply for this post, please go to .
