Postdoctoral researcher – The Hu Lab

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral researcher to join the group of Dr. Wenwei Hu at Rutgers Cancer Institute/Rutgers University.  The research interest of our lab is to study the development and progression of cancer, including cancer metabolic reprogramming and tumor microenvironment.  Specific research directions in the lab include: 1) the regulation and function of tumor suppressor p53 and its gain-of-function mutants in cancer; 2) the role of tumor suppressors, including p53 and its target genes, in the tumor microenvironment, metabolic reprogramming, tumor immunology, and cancer cachexia.  (Nature Communications, 5:5218; 8:1823; 12:3371; 15:137; 15:627; 16:1762; Nature Metabolism, 4:1830; Cell Stem Cell, 30: 1520; Blood, 140: 2076; Genes Dev, 30:1956; 31: 1641; Cell Death Differ, 21:1792; 22:1824; eLIFE, 4:e08401; 5:e10727; 7:e34701; JCI, 130:3253; 133:e164354).

Candidates should have a Ph.D. Degree and strong background and skills in molecular biology, cancer biology, and/or cancer immunology as evidenced by a publication record consistent with their career level.  Highly motivated and has the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.  Experience working with mouse models is a plus. The qualified candidate has the opportunity to be supported by a T32 fellowship on Cancer metabolism and growth and tumor-host interactions.    

 

Housed in the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the Hu lab is located at a vibrant and interdisciplinary basic/translational/clinical research facility in New Brunswick, NJ. The Hu Lab leverages a wide range of research approaches, including cell & molecular biology, biochemistry, animal models, immuno-profiling, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. Postdocs have abundant opportunities to interact with a vast research community offered by Rutgers campuses and participate in various career training and activities.  New Brunswick has convenient access to major cultural centers such as New York city and Philadelphia.
