Position Summary

ForAfrika, the largest African humanitarian and development organisation, is seeking an innovative Social Media Manager to enhance our digital presence and deepen engagement with our global audience. This pivotal role focuses on expanding our reach in North America, the UK, Europe, and the African countries where we operate, driving impactful connections and interactions. This pivotal role requires a candidate who is not only passionate about all aspects of social media but also deeply understands the nuances of the humanitarian and development sectors. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strategic insight, and robust knowledge of social media advertising to effectively share our stories and impact.

Infectious Enthusiasm for social media: Your passion for digital platforms is palpable. You live and breathe social media, understand the dynamics of various channels, and excel at crafting compelling narratives that resonate across global audiences.
Brand Voice Stewardship: As the guardian of ForAfrika’s online persona, you will ensure that every post, reel, and update not only resonates with our audience but also reinforces our brand’s identity and vision.
Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with our Marcoms team to integrate social media efforts with broader communications, marketing and organisational objectives.
Analytical Prowess: Demonstrate mastery in managing both budgets and analytics for social media campaigns, providing detailed, insightful reports that highlight content performance and return on investment.
Professionalism and Engagement: Maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all communications and interactions. You are expected to proactively seek new engagement opportunities, continually finding innovative ways to connect with and expand our audience

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth Leadership
-Develop and oversee ForAfrika’s social media strategy, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission.
-Shape ForAfrika’s digital presence to extend its reach across global communities effectively.

Creative Content Production:
-Develop engaging multimedia content that captivates key audiences, including YouTube videos and Instagram Reels.
-Showcase the impact of ForAfrika’s initiatives, bringing stories to life through compelling digital narratives.

Dynamic Campaign Management:
-Orchestrate social media campaigns from conception to execution, ensuring deep resonance with ForAfrika’s audience.
-Manage paid media advertising on social platforms to optimise reach and engagement.

Insightful Performance Analytics:
-Continuously assess the effectiveness of social media activities through rigorous analysis.
-Produce monthly reports that reflect performance metrics, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations.

Innovative Trend Integration:
-Stay abreast of evolving trends and technologies in the social media landscape.
-Ensure ForAfrika remains at the forefront of digital engagement by integrating innovative practices.

Consistent Brand Advocacy:
-Maintain a seamless and consistent brand experience across all social media platforms.
-Uphold ForAfrika’s brand standards and messaging coherence in every interaction and content piece.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experienced and Mission-Driven: You have at least five years of experience in social media management, ideally within the humanitarian or development sectors, showcasing a proven track record of meaningful engagement and impactful messaging.
Knowledgeable in Global Development: With a strong understanding of global development challenges, you are skilled at articulating complex issues effectively across various social media platforms, making intricate topics accessible and relatable.
Technologically Savvy: Proficient in the latest digital tools, mastering both social media management software and advanced video and graphic design software.
Social Media Expert: Extensive experience with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and YouTube, demonstrating deep expertise in leveraging these tools for audience growth and successful advertising campaigns.
Creatively Innovative: Always ahead of the curve, you thrive on generating unique, interactive, and engaging digital content that captures hearts and minds.
Communicative and Meticulous: Stellar communication skills, both written and visual, with a talent for storytelling that inspires action towards a greater cause.
Dedicated Project Manager: Exceptional project management capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, a hardworking attitude, and an unwavering determination to make a positive impact.
